Canada: A Sense of Place Presentations Newfoundland Maritimes Central Great Plains Mountains North * Initial display may be slow or a freeze during file download (up to 30 seconds). Using your browser back button and re-entering should resolve the problem. Background A Sense of Place captures only a sense of the places we visited at the times we visited them during our explorations of Canada. Every image was easily accessible, no strenuous hikes, no waiting for hours or days for the right light. To those who know this land, they will note significant gaps. For some, we were in transit and did not have time to stop. Large areas we have not yet visited and even larger areas are inaccessible. Ontario and Quebec have particularly large gaps because we kept running out of time whether travelling east or west and we have yet to visit Nunavut. The series progresses from Newfoundland south and west through the Maritimes, Central Canada, the Great Plains, and the Western Mountains, then north to the Arctic Ocean and east again to Yellowknife in the Northwest Territories. Each image has a button in the top right corner, click or tap to display a map of Canada showing the location of the image. Click or tap the map to close it.
